CACTI, BROMELIADS AND NATURE IN BRAZIL

A website dedicated to CACTI, BROMELIADS AND NATURE IN BRAZIL…

from “The Paradice” website:

“The Paradise is a portal dedicated to the Cacti of Brazil and part of the nature that they exist in the region of the Brazilian central plateau. Our objective is to identify the remaining cacti in Biomass Cerrado and Caatinga and the study of endemic Bromeliads in the area, mainly on the genera Bromelia, Encholirium, Dyckia and Orthophytum.”

Rebutia?

One of the first cactus to come home to 1346 from the California Cactus Center. I think it’s a rebutia, but any additional IDing info would be most appreciated. No Tom, it’s not dead. What I find most appealing is its solitude. Most rebutias I’ve seen in the few weeks I’ve been looking them up seem to be photographed either blooming (in which case you can’t see much at all due to the large colorful flowers) or clumped with many growths… so who knows. The cactus center crew thought perhaps it may have been a very old plant… but again who, knows. I like it. Very much.
